i tried, problem is with filtration and getting good water flow, also choosing the right dividers, overall it was a nightmare, can be done, but time consuming and maybe expensive |

It's possible to divide a tank into sections, we do it all the time when we either have to remove mouth brooding cichlid mum's out of the community tank to give them a bit of peace, or if someones been too naughty and needs some 'alone' time.
We make our own partitions from Polycarbonate roofing sheets (16 mm thick, triple walled), we cut them the width and height of the tank so it fits snugly. We then cut out the majority of the centre so it's just like a frame then we get some plastic netting and sew it around the frame with fishing line.
As we have several sizes of tanks this has been the cheapest and easiest way of making the partitions.
We use one pump with an airstone for each section and so only need the normal internal filters for each tank. As long as the water level is an inch below the top of the netting the water flows freely throughout the tank. |

Hi Kell, Yep its a load of hassle but you only have to do it once, then you've got them if you need them. |
