First off lets start by saying I do not want too paint my tank so that is out of the question. What I want to do is install an external background. The thing is in the past a find it hard to stick on the back of the tank without it looking well, ***. How would you stick a background on the glass? Can you buy sticky pads or what?
Some advice please. |

clear double sided sticky take from tesco works really well, put mine on with it a year ago and it is still stuck solid if it falls off tomorrow though i will blame you!!! |

If its got any weight then you can get double sided tape ment for sticking down carpets and rugs. it will take quite a bit of weight. have a look in B&Q. |

wait... sticky tape??
im sure these backings are supposed to be fixed to the glass with a water+washing up liquid solution.. this way you can move them in to position remove air with a credit card and leave to dry. |

They way i stick my external backgrounds on is.... get a very clean damp cloth and soke the outside of the glass, then just slide the background like a film, it enhances the colours and looks fantastic...trust me, give it a try, every couple of weeks when do a clean out just remove it and give it a clean, then dampen it off again and slide it on...and guess what, no nasty tape required!!! |

Those backgrounds once stuck are never going to come off, Wouldn't advise sticking something inside...stick with the water and washing up liquid solution. |

mt mate used pva glue to stick the back ground on the back of the tank and it makes it look like it is inside the tank because it is realy bright and the glue dries clear |

its like what Nemo?
When PVA Sticks, IT STICKS, your not going to get it off mate, All that will be left is a mess when you peel it off and you'll be stood there for ours with a stanley blade trying to get it off!
Cant see it working very well to be honest, I would stick with water and washing up liquid, Anyone else have an opinion on this? |

cut your back ground 2/3mm bigger than neede and poke the top and bottom onto the plastic trim.
place a piece of insulation tape down the sides and there you go.
no water can get in ect ect.
no bubbles at all!!
looks like its inside the glass! |

As I was taking apart my rio 240 today I noticed that before the 3D background was put on it had like a blue sticky film that had been stuck to the back outside section of the tank, a bit like laminate. Any of you lot use this stuff? Is it any good?
Thanks |
