when i took all the water out of my tank there were loads of stuff under the bottem of the sand like brown silt i use loads of sand snails so i was thinking about silicone a fine layer of sand to the bottem of the tank then it will look good and no bits can get under the sand what do you think |

it would work but if you wanted to change tank or something ud have to empty the tank then scrape it of and back on again but yh it would work GO FOR IT if you dont think its too much trouble |

let me get this right....
you have a sand bottomed tank and the bottom part of the sand is brown silt? instead of using a gravel filter to clean away the silt you want to silicone a layer of sand under the sand???... for the silt to sit on? is that right? |

No he doesn't want the silt, he wants to silicone the sand on so no silt can get under it.
Just clean it properly and you won't get that surely |
