whats the diffrence between tropical media and marine media and whats the bare min i would need to start a marine tank im thinkin of gettin rid of my discus and starting a small marine |

your basics are filter (external , skimmer is a must even if your having just fish , good lighting t5 or halides better |

been lookin on flea bay for skimmers my god theres loads of diffrent ones the tank im chaning is only 3 foot so will a air driven skimmer work |

Dave if ya do convert it to a marine tank, you can have some damsels for nowt to get the tank cycled |

dave i have a tesco bag of alfagrog you can have i took it out of a eheim pro 3 i had .idealy you dont want a externall filter with marine it causes more trouble than there worth (nitrates) |

alfagrog is very good in the sump as long as the water is well fillterd before it gets there , im sure wayne will back me up on that , look at waynes pick of his sump he posted the other day. lots of fillter media before it gets to the rubble.

hi dave ive just set up a marine tank the skimmer i bought was a v2 600 seems 2 do a good job it was £100 the kit contains all u need hope this helps. |
