Can they be kept in a reef tank or are they really just a species tank, i have seen a few in a reef but im alittle unsure ?

Any advise or pics of your would be helpful.

Well. I keep mine in a reef set up, but the only fish in there are seahorses. They can be kept with a wide range of corals and inverts with no problems. they can also be kept with quite a lot of fish, but generally smsller species - look here for a compatibility list:

The main problem is feeding, seahorses are just not competitive enough, so most when keeping with fish it is easy for them to starve as the 'normal' fish will get to the food first.
