22-08-2006 17:53 by craig	does any one hear switch there powerheads on and of every 6hrs as in real world sea would not be constantly in or producing waves would it so what do you guys think to what i have done i have system 200 wave machine with 3 maxijet powerheads on i let them run for 6hrs each doing a 30 sec then changing to another then after 6hrs turning off for 6hrs then turning back on again it gives corals a rest from constant flow of water what u think

23-08-2006 10:44 by PaddyD	Its good that you have a wave simulator - making the power heads pulse is great - ideally this should be randomly i.e random directions and duration, but this depends on what the system 2000 unit can do. But you do not need to turn it off for 6 hours. The corals do not need a rest period, they would not get it in the wild, so I am not convinced it would benefit them. I wuld use the wave maker and keep it on for a full 24hours.
23-08-2006 14:38 by Penny1	We have a tunze system running, and the pumps are on constantly, alternating at varying power and flows and at night they switch on to night mode which goes down to 30% power.
