hi,i purchased 4 x4inch discus saturday , put them in my tank which houses a few tetras and bristlenose plecs , they do swim freely but if i approach the tank they shy away and hide, i have also tried feeding them with dry food and beefheart but they will not feed, is this normal behaviour will they settle down eventually ...thanks dave

Yes, this normal. Its takes them a while to settle and iniatially might be skittish and shy.

Be patient with the food incase it pollutes the water.

Good luck.
