Does anyone else on here have an allergy to bloodworm its awful if I even smell the stuff I start sneezing and develop a wheeze and if I get the stuff on my hands and don't wash it off straight away my hands swell up it awful.
Unfortunatley this mean I am also allergic to mosquito bites I was bitten on Friday and my hand is still twice its normal size and is itching like made.
If you feed bloodworm to your fish I would recommend wearing latex gloves as the only way to become allergic to bloodworm is repeated handling of it apparently it is an allergy only found in fish keepers.
At this moment I am typing with my swollen hand whilst itching it with my other hand it is unbareable. |

i drop a fozen cube or two into a cup with aquarium water and leave until dissolved, then pour from the cup straight into the aquarium, never have to touch the bloodworm........hope you feel better buddy

Incidentally I always used to push the bloodworm out of the blister pack straight into the tank rarely touching the stuff my hypersensitivity to the stuff took about 5 years to develop.
I found out about it after rubbing my eye, I had washed my hands quite thoroughly I thought as I was from time to time getting lumps on my hand and I figured it was the bloodworm. My face swelled up so much it looked like I had been hit in the head with a baseball bat. I couldn't see out of my right eye for a week. It caused a bit of nerve damage when I get annoyed and tense my right eye brow slowly lifts very odd. |

Ha ha! I like it paul!
No allergies here but I would recommend rinsing the thawed bloodworm in a small net under a gentle tap to avoid shoving all that juice in and blasting the phosphate levels sky-high. |

Thats exactly what I used to do. I forgot to add that I get a rash if I put my hand in a tank where bloodworm has been fed too, its a nightmare. |
