well i was interested in these fish cos im starting up a new tank but read that they are no good with anything smaller than themselves... cos they will eat them.. and they will eat hermits and shrimp etc... just thor id chip in.. it didnt say anything specific but i would imagine nothing with a fast eating or moving habbit. they are slow moving creatures.. Also depends on which lion fish you want to go for.. you can get minature ones or medium sized or the large ones like the ones you always see in movies. maybe you can help the other guys on here by being a bit morre specific bout your requirments... just to get a more focused answer. me blabbering on again.. sorry. |

they are volitan lionfish for a fish only setup
size 6-7 inches
I wondered if they are compatible with trigger fish or cowfish? |

my 10 inch lionfish was ok with smaller fish, even damsels - he was just too lazy to go after them.
for safety though, yes triggers and cowfish should be fine. they lived together fine for me, as well as tangs, butterflys and larger angels.
no fish would deliberately eat a cowfish, as they are too spiky and also toxic. |
