how much live rock will i need for a 3ft tank and how much should i pay for it also i am going to go to the reef ranch in leeds in the next few weeks can anybody recomend it |

assuming you have about 20 gallons, you need approx 1 kg per 2 gallons = 10 kilo's.

10kg sounds good to me... Of course it all depends on what your gonna keep in there.. if its just shrimp etc then you can have10kg and almost nothing else.. if your having some fish you may want some mechanical filtration to help with the watse. If you have quite a few fish then youll want more live rock and higher mechanical filtration.. the fish are the worst for waste which is the problems you get in the tank.
You may consider putting live rock with live sand.. youll get a higher rate of waste removal and will also give you another aspect of live stuff in there.. hope that helps. |

i got a 180 liter tank and it should have 18kgs off liverock easy safe way to workit out is a kg off liverock for every 10 liter off water altough i got 14 kgs off liverock with a sulphur bead reactor and my tests are all tops |

shrimps and 2 clown fish a yellow tang a damsal and a dory i think there are also some crabs in it it has 2 inturnal filters which i will be putting in all i am doing is putting the fish from the setup i am collecting tommorow into a bigger tank well my tank is 3 ft and the tank they are all ready in is 24" or will there be to many fish what are the best cleaner shrimps also i have just won off ebay a ro unit it is a 50gpd 4 stage unit i have payed £51.00 is that about right it is brandnew still in its wrapper the setup was listed on ebay and she wanted £200.00 for it |
