14-09-2006 09:50 by darren653	Just continuing from that last thread: I've seen a lot of stuff about people making their own fluidized filters out of bins etc. Not sure how practical these are but wondered if anyones got any ideas. I hoping to get the misses permission to get a 8-10ft x 3ft (height) x 2ft tank built with a big sump and fluidized filter. Not sure how big a sump i'll need or quite how to design it. I was thinking about 4-5 ft with glass sections so water flows over then under then over (if u see what i mean).

14-09-2006 11:46 by darren653	yeh looks smart. I think mines a merlin, looks a bit more basic than yours. Dont think i got your pm mate but not sure how it works either. Surely they cant be that hard to make because theres not to much to them is there? How much sand do you put in yours?
14-09-2006 11:50 by keith t	this one needs 4kgs and a flow rate of 3000ltrs per hour, ive got it up for sale on recent added at the mo, im after a smaller one that dont require that much flow rate. This one is 21" high and a circumferance of 18 and 3/4
