ive got 2 48x12x18 tanks all set up for convicts,in 1 i have a pair of blue black[normal] cons + in the other i have a pair of marbled cons im thinking of putting a small shoal of tiger barbs into each tank! d'ya think ill get away with it???

i would advise on trying an arowana,

try jardini,

a big pieceful fish

tinfoils are hardier , or spanner barbs

Yes I think you will be ok, I use danios or odessa barbs. tigers should be ok - go for at least 6 though. In a 4 foot tank they should be fine unless you have particularly big or aggressive pairs.

i think larger tiger barbs with non breeding convicts be ok but breeding convicts and any fish small than them (or even bigger) and you taking your chances

some of these things are just trial and error, i have seen some bizaare "not from a text book!" combinations in my time,

as for arrowana and jardini with convicts...

sunrise barbs are good too.there a bit like tinfoils but not so big

have you decided what to do yet? i think it sounds like a decent option if the barbs are a fair size
