why is it that in america marine equipment like skimmers.lights and live rock is more less than half off what we have to pay here and producing the stuff is only a fraction off the cost we pay who is the culprit that make the money the fabricator, middleman, shopowner or is it like 50%tax on the stuff will be cheaper to go to usa for holiday and buy your stuff there ,but why should we be overcharged expecailly when it cames to the price off lights |

it is not as simple as you think bringing things back from overseas if custums get you that is it you end up paying tax ect to them and if they dont get you then you are one off the lucky ones |

It is just typical UK overpricing,I want a dsb filter and am going to buy one in Canada next week at less than half the UK price.Pennie you can buy in europe cheaper than here and dont have to pay tax, outside the EU travellers have an allowance of £160.00 before vat is added and then it is only 17.5%. |

just make sure the power supply is the same or it wont work unless u get a transformer or get it rewired if its electrical
also any warranties on a product sold abroad may not be valid in this country

yes that is the only drawback is the voltage as you might have 110volt altough a lot off american products is made in germany so it might be 220 volt i try to make most stuff myself just made me a kalkwasserstirrer and saved 150quid but everybody arent so lucky going to attempt a cooler this afternoon as my temp is busy running away with this heat thought about a 6mm clear tube coiled through a box with a feedpump and fan behind it and see if i can get a temp drop |
