the lights are off thou it looks as thou the tang has a lil shade of black underneath the surface, ne ideas of what it could be. i did acclimatise them fairly quickly as the water was stone cold.

yeh i know that but i wasnt sureif it was a disease as iv heard of a similar thing b4, where a brown shade comes up or sumthing. maybe i am a bit too worried as they are new to the tank and iv had a few fish die b4.its aways better for sum1's opinion

Is it wise to introduce so many fish at the same time , when you have had nitrate problems . Surely the extra *** from the new fish will push your nitrate back up again. This is only an assumption and i expect to be told differently and that i dont know what i am talking about.

your nitratereducter will take any where between 8 to 12 weeks to set up and produce 0 nitrate. unless you bought a second hand one still full of marine water and only turned of for max 12 hours . sorry to be bearer of bad news , and if you dont get the flow right it wont grow ANAEROBIC bacteria not to be cofussed with AEROBIC bacteria , ANAEROBIC is is then feed on nitrates , converting them to firstly to NITROUS OXIDE and finally to free NITROGEN GAS , to fast a flow converts nirate back to NITRITE and to slow deadly NYDROGEN SULPHIDE which smells like rotting eggs .HTH.
