Hi just seen my pair of sea horses mate for the first time does anyone know how long the male is pregant for?

Unfortunately yes (depending on the species). The problem is finding food small enough to feed and kieeping it at a sutable density so they can find it easily,

also some species are pelagic for the first few weeks( the float about in the water, not hitching on to anything) this can cause problems as well.
