Random SPS coral + pulsing xenia (this stuffs gone NUTS!!) + mushrooms + bi-colour blenny
Same as above but from top
overall view of most of the tank
Best picture I could get of the regal tang I bought (*** thing wont hold still!!!!)
Bi-colour blenny with random SPS in foreground
Bleached sebae anenome my father bought, got it on the road to recovery (repopulating zooanthelae) and the majano decided to split, when it did this the sebae went rapidly downhill so got flushed before dieing.
Same as above but from above the water
Camera shy boxing shrimp
zooanthids
Pulsing xenia (this is the stuff thats gone nuts, started with 13 heads and now look at it!!!)
Random Soft coral (i realy dont know what this is and have never seen it extend its polyps, but the old owner of the tank said it did this at night??? Any ideas people?)
My HUGE knobbly mushroom (about 8" across) |

i cheated a bit, i bought the whole setup and bucketed everything up, all the live rock and most of the corals (except the xenia and the zooanthids) were bucketed up and transported like that |

im just getting over a big cynobacteria bloom to deal with it i just left it carried on as usuall and waited for all the macro algaes to start growing back (I stripped off a binbag full.) I thought that that bit of red is some sort of non-photosynthetic gorgonian?
In reply to your question jonie it is possible to do a nano reef in a 2 foot tank (my first marine tank was just 13l) you could have a couple of small fish in there aswell as your corals. Theres a forum specifically for this (hope you dont mind this webbie) at [URL]http://www.nanoreefs.co.uk[URL] |
