Would a brita filter that they use on mains water be ok to use a tank.

They use these at my works for filtering the water before it goes into the coffee machine.

i have read somewhere that the brita water filters you normally get ( the plastic jugs ) if you know what i mean CANT be used for your aquarium water. if that helps.

The ones that we have at work are large canister filters but im not sure what they use in them for the filtration.

they will probably be a sedimentry filter followed by activated carbon possibly then followed by a d/i resin hope this helps
