yeah they also showed a photo a few months ago,and the story was mentioned before on piranah forum,i think the photo was in a stockport paper, apparently the version in the paper memtioned someone catching it and throwing it back in,a few days later someone found it dead on the bank, hence the photo! |

Had one reported in our local park pond. Went down and it was a Pacu. Just another abandoned pet -I've taken abandoned dogs, a kitten and noticed rabbits and a pet rat in the woods. |

urban realities then instead of urban myths, people just dumping unwanted piranhas which can never live in our ponds, and eventually die, such cruelty exists in the developed and 'civilised'age of instant gratification! No doubt, these same people will go out and buy another more exotic
and rarer breed of piranha, only to dump them again when they are outgrowing their 2' tanks or they can not clean their tanks out because they are afraid of them! |

can't understand why they don't sell them, there are plenty of people who will buy them anyway? |

Hey, I was there. I live in Stockport, and the person who caught it, Josh Boyle, lives on my street, next door to me. The pictures people saw I took, It was pretty cool. |

I only just joined when I saw this on google. We were riding on our bikes on the field where he caught it, and we saw one of our friends dad there fishing, he said he keeps seeing some weird fish popping up, he said its just some weird carp but we said it was a piranah. we went to his house and he got his rod and put a spinner on the end, we got there and after about an hour he finally managed to hook it in its tail, he pulled it out and I got it in my net, and took the pictures. I phoned his brother, Callum, and a few other people and they came down. I have around 30 pictures of the piranah on my computer aswell.
You know what's ironic? The piranah didn't bite his fingers, but 2 days ago the end of his finger got caught in some big gate and it snapped off, he had 4 stiches in the finger, and it won't fully heal for a year.
Sad eh? |

Oops, didn't explain it right, I meant we were riding on our bikes on the field by the pong where he caught it.

thanks for the pictures, but i still dont get it? the fish is obviously dead. If its dead someone could have just recently dumped it or something surely? I thought we would see the fish alive? anyway i am sure there are some prats about that put fish in rivers and lakes etc that they had as pets. |
22-10-2006 10:32 by Mattaru
|
In those pictures it isn't dead, It died a few days later, we went down to fish there and it was dead on the bank. He caught it alive.
And yeah, there are prats that do that, which I'm sure is what happened to the Piranah. |
