i have discus on his own doing really well always swimming around fine and eating fine. when ever i put other discus with him he always really terrorises them and kills them not letting them get enough food he has killed 5 discus what can i do he is fine with other fish. i want a small group of at leaste 4-5 discus he is kept in a 4 foot tank. i was told by my lfs to put 4-5 with him and let him spread his aggression between the 5 but he terrorised them 1 by 1 is there anyway i can get him to b ok with other discus the ones i added where all about the same size as the one i have.

the only way you might get him to accept other discus is by placing the other discus in you tank with a partition for a couple weeks and remove the partition everyday day a couple hours while watching the fish and eventualy the fish will adjust

place the violent discus in a spare tank, then put new discus in your show tank after rearranging the decor. make sure the new discus are all larger than the violent one. after a few weeks, you could then try the violent male back in the show tank (by then the other discus would of established themselves). if he still causes problems, i would be inclined to find him a new home (maybe someone with big cichlids so he can learn some humility).

JUST MAKE SURE THE NEW DISCUS YOU BUY ARE BIGGER AND YOU WILL BE FINE.
THE BIGGIST DISCUS IN THE TANK IS USERLY THE MOST AGRESIVE.
