Hi
I have goldfish and they are losing there pigment and turning white, Could you tell me what is happpening, please? I will be grateful. |

hi im tasha i breed goldfish and its happend to me most goldfish change couler its nothing to worry about i have no idea what makes them change it could have somthin to do wiv maturity or say if the parents r diffrent coulars they normally change a couple of times to the same shade as either parents if tht makes sense x |

Sorry for the double post, But it has also happened to my shubunkins as it was multi-colours when I put it in and it is completly white. |

my old goldfish used to go white when there was not enof oxegen in the water |

also goldfish can lose colour due to lack of light! do you keep em in pond or tank if tank leave the lights on for longer also try feeding boiled mushed carrot |

this can be due to fish being treated with hormones proir to sale,lack of vitamins in their diet,no sunlight,poor genetic strain,or poor water quality.If you can give us the water parameters and lighting and diet maybe we can advise. |

As the folks have already said, combo of problems. There was a similar post few weeks back in coldwater section.
Live daphnia (fed on algae)are best foods for getting colours back into fish. Vit C is good for colouration but is readily broken down in food(limited shelf life) |

When my goldfish turned pink the advice I received was that the temp was too high i.e. up to 26C in the school so I went tropical. |
