i took my juwel intarnal filter out as it was the jumbo and took far too much space up and the strongflow off my box was no goog for my discus as it bewildered them |

fish arent stupid they arent going to swim against something hot they will avoid the heater due to the immediate heat it sends out spraybar good idea but only on period to make it look like rain i also did not heat my water for waterchange just put it in cold as rainwater in natural habitat is cold and the sudden change in watertemp due to waterchange trigger off spawning for basic all fish everytime i did such a waterchange on my tank my nannacaras use to spawn due to the soft cold water |

just get yourself a heater gaurd i bit of plastic surounding the heater they work great or hide heater in corner as the fish dont swim into corners but heatergaurd is your best bet juwelfilters is in any case a pain to clean as it dirty your whole tank before you got it out |

Old man ...i use a fluval spray bar ....its larger than my tank needs ......
i reduce the water flow by having the spray bar under the water surface......and if it was still to strong point the spraybar towards the back of the tank.......the deflection of the back seams to work well
Just a thought .....HTH
