I am new here but need some help. I've kept saltwater fish for some time. However my tank have been up and running for a few months with no fish what so ever, my question is do I need to re-cycle my tank or is everything still OK. Nitrate and nitrite level are fine, thanks Rick.

nothing in at all no live rock or any thing, if so your tank never cycled anway, buy a couple of cheap damsels that will cycle it in about 2 weeks , hth.

I'm sorry I was unclear, it's still full of live rock just no fish. It has had fish before just not lately.

should be ok then, just stock slowly to allow your live rock to kick in.

Live rock once cured is a mature filter having said that stock slowly and please don't put a damsel in there first as it will take the whole tank as its territory and will kill all new additions. The only damsels to consider are the green chromis but these need to be kept in a shoal of around 6.

The best first addition would either be a grazer like a tang or a foxface (only because this is a mature set up) or an alternative small little predator good for keeping bristleworms under control that being the pyjama wrasse.
