It is a bit pricy I think, They should be very easy to come accross - expect to pay £3.95 for a 2" one. They are farmed in large numbers now like commom plecs and red sailfins.

They do look like common plecs and sailfins. i've got two sailfins that look just like it

definately a white spot L001 / L022 - Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus

- But the spots are often orange, sometime sold as common or sailfin plecs, but better than either as they grow to about 8" on average.

i actually got the pic and name from Fish 4u . it was in amongst there l number pages as L001 pterygoplichtys_joselimianus . iwas enquiring because a friend of mine has just bought one . and i wanted to find out which one it was , thanks for your help guys

Same fish, but it is now Glyptoperichthys not pterygoplichtys

gets confusing when they keep changing the names . anyway just had a look and i have a 7inch one in with my baby severums also. just bee checking ot the names of some of mine . and found that 2 different L numbers can describe the same fish .... its all to much for me i think i wil just call all 10 of mine common plecos

apart from the fact the bottom one is a lot darker . they look the same to me. wheres my Glasses so i can have a proper look
