hi having been advised on here about what skimmer to get for my new setup i have purchased the v2 skim 400 from tmc. i have fitted the skimmer to my new trigon 190 that has been up and running for a month or so i have so far put in the tank 2 green chromis and a blue cheek gobythe levels have been checked daily and they are fine in the tank i have about 1.5" of live sand and some small ocean rock to build up some structure. having set up the skimmer as per the instructions it seems to be excessively noisey and i doo mean excessively when i cover the air intake hole the noise disapears so i have ordered the silencer for this. having had the skimmer in operation for 36 hours it seems that i cant get the bubble height right they are either very low or spilling over the cup and filling the collector cup with water not foam has any one set one of these up before and with my stock level should i be getting couloured skim yet any suggestions would be of great help |

i have one of these and they are noisey for about 4 days until they run in,the foam levels is an issue i keep mine just at the bottom of the chamber and over 2-3 days it pulls out quite alot of thick brown skimmate it can only take out whats in so if you are not getting any out there cant be alot to pull out yet.hth mikk |
