does anyone have experience of a tang community set-up? would be a 36 inch tank so i know not much space. just wondered what tangs might live together relatively peaceful in this size tank? |

sonia, i would suggest leleupi, some young frontosa, NOT brichardi as they get territorial. tropheus are ok if you can get either single specimens or larger groups with only one male. compressiceps are also great fish. |

Will frontosa not get too big |

this will take years, and they are too lazy to chase smaller fish anyway, as long as there is ample rockwork. i have kept them together for ages. |

oscellatus probably would not go with frontosas though, that would be asking for a tasty meal. |

My uncle has got frontosa and tropheous and bricardi and they mix fine. the bricardis and tropheous have even bred. |

We've got Tropheus, Occelatus Gold, Black Calvus and an Eretmodus Cyanostictus together in 1 4ft tank.
We now only keep Brichardi in a tank of their own........
We also have a breeding pair of Julidochromis Transcriptus Gombi which have a giant shell up one end of an 8ft tank with a mix of Malawi cichlids: Protomelas Taiwan Reef fry, breeding Labidochromis Caeruleus, Breeding Aulonocara Maleri and some Acei white-tails. |

I would go for julidochromis brichardi leleupi possibly some shell dwellors and some open water shoaling cichlids the name escapes me but they stay small and look stunning.
To do this careful aquascaping would be needed to give all the fish the correct environments to thrive but when done it looks fantastic. |
