hi in my tank i currently have a pair of geophagus steindachneri and i was hoping to add 1 or 2 geophagus pelligrini and 1 or 2 Gymnogeophagus Balzanii will they be ok together?

To be honest with you mate i would'nt mix red humps with the other two species as they are rather agressive second only to Brasilliensis

Well the pellegrini and steindachneri should be ok, But beware that they may hybridise. And with a fish as rare as pellegrini, this would be a shame.

Be very careful when you buy pellegrini - most are steindachneri. If its the real thing, only buy it if you can start breeding it and distribute the young.

They are becomming more readily available now Paddy,i have seen them in three shops in the last month or so
I agree that if you do get them be 100% sure of whhat they are,ask where they came from and the exporter if possible

what size tank are they in as at the moment i only have a three foot tank but i am hopefully getting a bigger one after christmas.
