Could i turn my 24x12x12 tank into a setup for frontosa and tropheus? I know that they grow big but my uncle has got 13 frontosa in a massive tank and he said he'd buy them from me. at the mo theres just 3 geos and 2 sajicas. I'm fed up with wood and slate look. |

I think that it would be a nice change from south american cichlids and tetra's and i can get a load of free coral rock and gravel from my uncle and a few baby troptheus and a 1 small frontosa. He has got a 10-11 male in primo condition it's amazing.
I'll get some pics on saturday. |

beware of the trophrus in a smaller tank they are the most viscious fish i have ever owned, they will batter anything to death, mine were ok for 8 months in my 5ftr then one day all hell let loose, one particular tropheus killed a sub adult frontosa and five of his own kind:o hth |

tropheous need big tanks and need to be kept in groups of at least 7 or 8 . or they will fight like hell |

It is just too small for the tropheus even when small. They should be kept in quite big groups to keep the aggression down.
And Frontosa's will grow quickly if given enough space a 24" will stubt them. I would not keep tretocephalus instead as these will again need a bit more space, quite an aggrssive alternative to frontosa. |
