Subject: Royal Mail Scam
Can you circulate this around especially as Christmas is fast approaching. It has been confirmed by Royal Mail.
The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:-
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0306 6611911 (a premium rate number).
DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scan originating from Belize .
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.
If you do receive a card with these details then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at:-
www.icstis.org.uk or your local trading standards office. This is a genuine scan and is under investigation by ICSTIS.

A new similiar scam is when a message is left on your phone answer machine (or using the 1571 service).
It says an important message has been left for you and you need to call the number they give to retrieve it - of course this is a classic premium line scam. Dont fall for it (loads will though). |

ill do it for you daves..
Do you remember the postman who nearly lost his job because he advised a customer to contact Royal Mail to tell them to stop delivering junk mail to them, well my tip for today is why should 'WE HAVE TO CONTACT THEM TO ASK THEM TO STOP SENDING JUNK MAIL?'Did Royal Mail ask us if we would like some junk mail sent to us(since they make money out of this,i don't believe they would give us that option!),No they did not.
So,everyone ,gather round and listen to my little plan,i promise,
there will be no more tearing junk mail up or filling your black bin liners with their unsolicited rubbish, just do the following.
All junk mail that is delivered to your home, save them for at least until you have a quarter of a bin liners amount full or more, that 's optional, just make sure that you remove your name and details from any junk mail you recieve, then when you have a decent sized amount, take it to the nearest Red Post Box
(no need to contact Royal Mail since they didn't contact you and all you are doing is returning their shite),and fill their post boxes up with as much poo as they have sent you.......if everone did this, what would happen?Any COMMENTS,DEBATES AND SPECULATION is welcome, let's give them a taste of their own medicine in dealing with junk mail,i'm sure they will not only have a headache delivering it but then,THEY WILL HAVE A BIGGER HAEDACHE OF DISPOSING OF IT,also we are 'DOING OUR GREEN BIT TO SAVE THE PLANET',Just think of all those football sized pitches that are being destroyed for this and you will see that you are helping!
The worst that can happen is Royal mail will have a rethink on sending this out in future........hopefully.
Feel free to copy and paste this 'tip' to anywhere you think it would come in handy, and that means everywhere!
Happy posting folks! |

Paul Stevens you are talking from where the sun dont shine, i am a postman and by doing what you suggest hurts not the employer, but the poor posties that has to empty the boxes. I also suggest that you write the facts Royal is the carrier NOT the supplier!!! |
