hi there last week i added another t8 marine white tube to my tak making it 2 whites and 3 blues this week i have found my live rock has started to grow alge (green) and my sand is going a brown colour the live rock near the top is most effected so i have tunred out the light as i do not have any coral and going to wait and see is this wise and can you tell me if its the lights which are making this happen

scarp as much of as u can on the sand and leave light on for about 6hours onhly and it will soon decrease in growth rate

doubt it is too much light other wise all tanks with m/h will be full off bloom i reckon it is the sudden change off light after 2 years maybe try to slowly adjust the extra light how many watts is the t8 tubes you got in?
