Hi there, Yesturday i brought some marine polyps from my lfs,
when i brought them they were all closed up btw thease are a collony on them on some rock. I added them to my tank and they were still all closed up .. and 2day they are still closed up any idea of whats going on ? |

sulking?seems that some do tend to do this,should settle in in a day or two |

ok they are under 2x Marine Blues and 2x marien white - t8 tubes i have placed them near the top ? is this ok |

need t5 lighting at a minimum really preferably halides |

ok, certain polyps can live under t8 with no problem, halides are not a must for them |

my lfs sed thease would be fine at the top of the tank under t8s they had them under t8s aswell |

t8's are not ideal no but if he's got 4 of them and its at the top of the tank he shudnt have too many problems. how often do you do a salt water change tomdoc?? |

try moving them halway down the reef. My polyps wouldn't open up at the top of my tank so moved them to a more central position and they've been good as gold since |

ive had ecactly the same problem ive had mine in four days now they are still not coming out ive tried moving them and getting them out of the flow but nothing is working yet i am leaving them for a while to see if they come out of there own accord i will be leaving them in for the next week but then they will be removed just incase. |

T8's are fine for low light levels corals and polyps and T8's are perfectly sufficient in shallow tanks.
Assuming calcium alkalinity and ph are ok and nitrate is low they should open in a few days. |
