13-11-2006 21:27 by OLD MAN
they are the kind thing i have been looking at.
other thing is with an open top tank will my uarus jump out |
13-11-2006 21:28 by jonie

13-11-2006 21:30 by OLD MAN

13-11-2006 21:33 by OLD MAN
right ok. what is the difference between t8 and t5? |
13-11-2006 21:48 by jonie
light emit is higher on t5's and there thinner(t5) i think there is such thing as t12 |
13-11-2006 21:50 by OLD MAN
so i would be better with t5s den 2 get more light.
how much more light? do they use more elecie? |
13-11-2006 21:51 by sonia
jonie what have you done here? |
13-11-2006 21:55 by jonie
i think they use more electricity but yes id go for t5 if you want more light btw. how do you make the juwel thingy light up with only 1 tube |
13-11-2006 21:55 by OLD MAN
i rewired it. |
13-11-2006 21:57 by jonie
kool |
13-11-2006 21:59 by OLD MAN
it looked really bad with two. does look better with just one.
i think an over tank would be a beter way, with say 3 tubes each on there own switch, then i can have 1 or 3 on.
i think having a gap between water n light wil make all the difference. |
13-11-2006 21:59 by sonia
jonie have you done something here to the screen? |
13-11-2006 22:00 by jonie
a long link |
13-11-2006 22:01 by jonie
yep old man it will make a difference |
13-11-2006 22:03 by OLD MAN
i think having a gap will make all the diference.
having the light so close to the water is what is making it look really bad i think. |
13-11-2006 22:08 by jonie
it will |
13-11-2006 22:09 by OLD MAN

luminaire is 4 t5 compacts isn't it? Far too bright for the discus and uaru in my experience. Agree that the standard juwel lighting is pants so use the arcadia original light bulb or freshwater bulb. |
13-11-2006 22:18 by OLD MAN
you got a link to what you would use? |
13-11-2006 22:18 by OLD MAN
use what mate? |
13-11-2006 22:32 by heros hero
not got a link for ya but it's the arcadia t8 tube. Try their website or any lfs. |

If you have the standard juwel light tubes, they are horrid, just switch to aquaglo and power glo. |
14-11-2006 11:00 by OLD MAN
I HAVE EVERY TUBE GOIN MATE, TRYED EM ALL AND I THINK THEY ARE ALL HORRID.
BEST TUBE IS CALLED A DAY GLO I FIND. GIVES THE WATER A GOOD LOOK WITH THE WATER ALREADY BEING "BLACKWATER". |
