Is there anyway that an airstone or something similar can be attached to the inlet[return] pipe to create bubbles and disturb the surface more,?????????????/

you need an attachment on the end that enables you to put a bit of airline pipe in and this will draw in air and push out bubbles with your water flow, alot of powerheads have the same feature.
But you are prob better of getting a powerhead and putting it near the surface

Why don't you attach a rainbar and attach it so that it breaks the surface of the water, thereby creating more bubbles and water movement than you will ever need?
