no it doesnt it just needs to be kept
a bit moist/wet , useually just in a black bag in a bucket will do, , if you are buying it from someones tank , make sure thier water quality is good as most people who are selling let thier water quality get bad which is absorbed into the rock and when you put it into your tank it will release all the badness

if your moving the live rock its best kept in water, if its a car journey then this may be impractical, so the best thing is to cover it with moist papper and towels, you will get some die off but not to much it depends on the time of the journey.

If relocating a tank best to keep it submerged in water. Otherwise you will suffer a slight die back depending on how moist the rock is kept and how long it is out of water. It will recover but will go through a minor re-curing which is not ideal when relocating a tank.

When you buy cured rock though it is normally wrapped in plastic to keep it moist whilst you take it home.

To ship it wet use old salt buckets half fill them with salt water from the tank and then place the rock in thereup to the water level and then put the lid on should its easy to relocate it submerged.

It will be ok as long as its not kept out of water too long otherwise you will have a small spike,in a tank your size you will not notice but in a smaller tank it will turn the fish and effect the params .I put some NEARLY cured rock in mine and it devastated the tank ,if you smell it it will be a fresh salty smell thats the best way of finding out.

I agree with Linda's grammer, shocking, possibly dyslexic

Looks like Ed being back has bought Danny Boy out of retirement. Do you get excited when certain members re-appear?

as for the live rock people who actually bother to test their water will know that simply keeping live rock moist doesnt help, if its out the water you need to get it back in ASAP

How are you keeping dan ,i only put one thread on about goldfish and it was taken off.Did your background idea take off ,i have just this week got back on the net i still dont have any fish but loads of tanks. The building game has nearly died chippies on £65 a day i never thought i would see that that is why i went into the buying of old houses and refurbing them then selling on ,it pays all the guys wages and leaves a tidy profitbest move i have made.
