ive got a red sea prizm skimmer on my vision 180 and had a battle with foggy&oily surface water and the cheapest upgrade kit for surface skimmer on the prizm i could get is 27quid plus postage wich is a heck of lot of money so i spend an hour this morning making my owm prizm surface skimmer and it works as good as a bought one would work used a plastic cup with 65mm raduis and 110mm lengh ,cut out the slots and fixed it to my upliftstrainer with a 3mm plastic bolt and the lenght and cup worked out perfect for my waterlevel and will also help to control waterlevel better now.so i thought i would share it with fellow marinekeepers who have prizm skimmers i know they are not the best but with christmas coming up i just cant afford the deltic mc600 but be patient and eventually i will get one in meantime the prizm will have to do for the little work it does as mu liverock does most off the work |

well at the moment i do a 10% weekly waterchange aqnd if i have a half a cup off waste in my tank over a week its a lot so i am not too bothered about upgrading skimmers but glad i made a plan with the surface skimming as i had some oily sites recently |
