hi does anyone have a dimmer switch but also a timer connected to there tank i want lights to come on at certain time but gradually building up to full light then reducing slowly anyone help

i had a five foot tank once that had 6 tubes for lighting they would all come on at different times ie soft light tubes first and then progressively to brightest tube .
I used a circuit board with 13amp plug sockets all the starter packs were plugged into normal light timers {which you can buy at any electrical shop} and then plugged in to the sockets on the board i set them 20 minutes after each other and then visa versa for turning off. hope this makes sense

you will need a dimmer electronic ballast for the idea you have and for having a dimmer on a timer you will be better off setting it on a controller wichever way a dimmer on electronic tubes will cost if you want a elect timer on it
