10-12-2006 13:31 by primus	Hi Can anybody suggest a quietish skimmer ? At the moment I`ve got a red sea prism and it is loud .It`s to run a 180l tank .Is the Tunze Nano skimmer suitable for this ?
10-12-2006 17:35 by yanton	good question to ask primus i have yet to find a NON SUMP clip on skimmer for my 6x2x2 marine tank, that is quiet enough for use in a living room. so, i use water changes and polyfilter instead.
10-12-2006 18:27 by nige	i use the Aqua Medic Turboflotor Multi SL for my 6x2x2 and thats quet enough in my bedroom thats silent providing you put a bit of sponge in the weirs it doesnt even bother the girlfriend if she stops over the night

10-12-2006 22:26 by nige	i can honestly say the skimmer i have is silent i had a deltec before and found it noisy the loudest thing on my tank is the eheim external ive got running just to put floss or carbon etc in

12-12-2006 19:56 by yanton	nige, thanks for this comment. i checked out a link to buy this skimmer here A question though: My 6x2x2 open topped tank has a 3inch inside lip. Do you think it would fit over this when used hanging on the side?
12-12-2006 21:11 by wayne	with the turboflotors you get wiers that attach to one another i have loads spare if you need any im using 1 on my 7x2x2 great skimmers

13-12-2006 14:56 by nige	you can also put longer tubes in between the wiers adn the skimmer itself for extra clearance if you wanted
