Agree with yanton, african tilapia these fish will breed more than guppies. |

Yes, I agree with curviceps, looks like a mozambique mouth brooder. |
01-01-2007 23:18 by curviceps

Would agree with that, I had 1 male and 2 females, never ending supply of fry. |

could be a mosambique tilapia i have bred white ones and ones like the picture above.
i would put it in the tilapia family for sure though. there are a lot of diffrent strains |

The one that people said looked like a mozambique looks more like a fossochromis rostratus to me the bottom picture is of a male oreochromis mozambique and the fish you have got looks like the commercially bred version of the gold mozambique and yes they do breed like guppies but are a remarkably peaceful cichlid.
It is very easy to stunt their growth buy keeping them in a group 1 male to a few females they are unlikely to get over 6" long if ypou do this as most of their energy goes into breeding but if lone specimens are kept 16" in lenght is feasible. |

Definately an - Oreochromis almost certainly a mossambicus or hybrid of mossambicus (with another Oreochromis species)
They are a very variable species - and they is a wide variation and several strains as danny says. |

Question here, since this seem like a promising source! I have four Kribensis in a 30 gallon tank that I got from a friend and I can't distinguish the males from the females. One fish has has died bringing me down to four and they are starting to get aggresive. Any suggestions? |

so you had 4 then i died and now you got 4 maybe the dominant one died and now they are fighting for dominance |
