Your tank's volume is approximately 34560 cubic inches or 149.61 U.S. gallons, which is approximately 581.98 liters |

for anyone who want to work out volume if you have a 5x2x2 just x 5 x 2 x 2 x 6.25 for gallons and for litres x 4.45 example
5 x 2 x 2 =20
x 6.25= 125 gallons
x 4.45 =556.25 |

there are 110 gallons in a 5x2x2
and there are 4.546 litres to a gallon this gives 500.06 litres here is a web site that calculates it for you.http://www.aquatics-warehouse.co.uk/extras/Info/Size_of_UV_filter.html |

whoops sorry 120 gallons = 545.52 litres in a 5x2x2 |

http://www.aquatics-warehouse.co.uk/extras/Info/Size_of_UV_filter.html i got my info from here this is where i got the information from when i built my fish house im not saying its correct but i just typed in the sizes and the calculator worked out the volume for me , |

Right, to work it out CORRECTLY, we need:
the inside tank measurements
the height of the water in the tank
the depth of the substrate
how much water is displaced by any decor
are their any airstones? If so how much water do they displace?
how much water is displaced by the tank inhabitants?
is the owner male or female? (males often exaggerate)
how tall is the owner
what type of flooring do they have
does it have.......

also if you read the conversions in the front of most diaries you will see that there is 4.546 litres to a gallon and not 4.45
.... so without being disrespectful to you wayne i dont see how your calculation can be right if the mathematics in your formula are not correct |

are we talking the same langauge ? are you getting that work out for imperial gallons or U.S gallons because in this country we use imperial , thier are 4.45 litres in an imperial gallon , i dont use US gallons so i dont know the work out |

Wayne only uses imperial leather or life boy... |

http://www.metric-conversions.org/volume/liters-to-uk-gallons.htm 4.546 =0.999979762838059 / 4.45= 0.9788627242915454 this is the conversion i am using and UK gallons are deffo larger than american gallons |

the problem is calv has based his calculations on the formula that was supplied . maybe somwwbody should Pm him and explain the confusion. |
