Ok, following on from the white wormy things I had a did a full tank clean. No worms since in there and tank is lovely and clear with great water conditions.
So how come my blackmoore has a film growth over both eyes with white things at the end!!! and now my loach is on its back next to air stone!! I noticed since yesturday the loach wasnt as active but was out and ok ealrier. An hour ago it was on the bottom next to air stone and seemed ok, now its on its back, why?? And what are the white growths over my black moores eyes??? |

No. I removed all the water and put it in a large container with fish. I then cleaned the ornaments and plastic plants (rinsed) I dint wash the gavel as that would ruin it being established. I did wash the tank walss inside with a tank wall cleaner using water spare from the tank. I rinsed filter spnge with same old tank water as not to ruin it. I then replaced ornaments etc.. And started putting the water back in from container with fish in. How ever I only put back 50% and the other 50% clean water which was pre treated. So all in all a 50% water change and a cleaner tank lol. Just uploading some pics now Ive took so will post in a minute. The loach looks like it is dieing I think that might be my fault as it was a tricky sod to catch and I caught it against the net and sides by accidnet, so wondering if I injured it The black moor I havent a clue, you will see from pics anyway. 1 min and i will upload them.

ouch does the moor hav anchor worm in its eye? is the end of the worm that you can see forked? if so its anchor worm. saying that ive read of a symptom the very same as this but cant remember what it was i will go away and try to find out for you. in the mean time try "fish doctor" on google and see what you can find |

It doesnt look like a worm. i know it looks long in the picture but its actauly more rounded in shape. Its eating and swimming ok. Would it have anything to do with those white specks and planaria??
Ive removed the loach as its stressed from not being able to move, all it can do is twitch and is trying to get on its front. I tried placing it on its front but it wont stay!! The pearscale fish did something amazing. i had dropped a plec wafer in and it took it to the loach, right up to its mouth then kept nudging it to what looked like it was trying to encourage it to eat. This loach was fine until this planaria and tank clean. Im thinking I hurt it catching it but it was swimming ok 24 hours after, whcih im sure it wouldnt of it I had hurt it :-
? Im worrying now im going to have an infected tank and lose them all |

this might sound like a silly question but did you use a course net when you caught him or was it a fine mesh net . he may have damaged his eyes in the net , i find my big fish can suffer slight eye damage when i net them but it clears up after a couple of days . its just the membrane over the eye that gets damaged , something to consider |

I used normal standard net with soft netting.
He died thismorning I checked for obvious injurys and couldnt see none. I havent a clue what was wrong unles its something to do with the fungus. |

Is (was)the Loach one of those beautiful little Ballintorid thingys? if so I believe they need loads of oxygen in the water (they come from cool spate water habitats, something that is unlikely to be reproduced in aquaria. |
12-01-2007 10:56 by AndreaC
|
Hi, yes it is. I have alot of oxygon. The loach was thriving until I did the tank clean.
Also to add, the blackmoore is now changing colour to a bronze colour |
12-01-2007 17:04 by tasha

Hmm thismorning the white blobs were there yet I checked an hour ago and there gone!! I have noticed for some reason this fish doesnt like the air stone on, when its on it sits at the bottom with fins down and seems to be gasping, as soon as you turn it off it swims happily about as normal Can air stones stress some fish?? weird thing lol. |
15-01-2007 16:43 by tasha
|
i dnt have an air stone in my moores tank mayby he dosent like the current or try a new stone |
16-01-2007 14:23 by AndreaC
|
Ive kept it off now so not to cause stress.
I noticed the white specks are back I also noticed another tiny wormy thing again on tank wall, real small one this time.
Im getting worried now as today the blackmoore is sat at bottom of tank and gasping alot!! Do you reckon my tank is poluted with something. the other fish are fine Its the white specks and wormy things that are worrying the hell out of me. If I lose my fish and they all get ill I will give up altogether on fish |
16-01-2007 16:03 by tasha
|
nooo u better not i was like tht wiv my moores wen i first started hmm the onli fing i cud say is mayby do a whole water change clean the glass stones ornimantes bascially eevrything in case there is somthing wrong have you got a spare tank u can put ur remainin fish into ? |
17-01-2007 18:51 by AndreaC
|
I woke thismorning to find My blackmoore dead I only have 1 fish left now and that has the on start of the white things on yes like other did What the hell is this
If I do a full clean out like that It would be like a brand new set up. Should I do it anyway. I have a spare tank but it isnt very big, but I only have 1 fish left now so that wouldnt matter.
Is anyone else reading this other than us 2??
Come on peeps, some one must know whats wrong |
