do you mean the whole tail has been bitten off if so maybe but doubtfull,if you mean nips in the tail fin then yes it will just make sure water is kept clean + if the fin keeps gettin savaged then move to another tank till ok |

plenty of water changes will be good. and add melafix as linda said. depends on the damage and health of the fish as to the recovery of the tail |

Is the base of the tail still there or has the bite extended into the main body tissue i.e. is the caudal peduncle still there if so the fin will grow back if its not there it may not grow back only time will tell. Keep the water quality spot on and only put a treatment in there if any signs of infection appear fungus is the most likely so have some pimafix at the ready.
I have a heros notatus that had its tail bitten off by a polyterus and it has fully regenerated and there is no sign of injury at all. This bite removed a good sized chunk of the caudal peduncle but not all of it. |
