How will a gold severum fair with a texas cichlid? Will terrors or dempseys also be fine?

Depends a lot on size of fish, tanksize and how you stock it
I think if the fish are small enough to sart with and you stock em all at the same time you'll be fine for a while
The only time you will have real probs is if you have pairs forming
If your talking about Red Terrors (Festae)i would'nt include these as they can reach well over 12", even the females
Also the Texas are Central American species and would require different water conditions from the Souths

As said above severums are not compatible with texas - just down to agression alone. Texas are much too aggressive.

I have to agree and disagree with daren, Yes you will be ok for a while - about 2 months I would say if they are small fish. But as they grow they will get territorial, even if they cannot pair up, these cichlids will defend a territory and hope a mate comes along.
