So is this a common species in aquaria ? |

Ste, Well as ray says 'Basketmouth' is ok. But Collectivly the Caquetaia genus is known as 'False Basketmouths' (there are 2 other similar species in the genus, myersi and spectible)
as there is another fish known as the basketmouth
or basetmouth acara 'Acaronia nassa'.
So I would stick to the propername - less confusion.

Not that common - I have only seen a few for sale over the years - but they are available if you hunt them down. Not awfully sought after, but occasionally you see collectors getting very excited over this genus.
Grows to about 8" - has a protusable mouth so will eat quite large fish. |
