no as a pro 3 has a greater out put than 550LH so there fore uv would be usless,also if it was for a marine tank then id think i would ask the seller what the cavity space is between the tube and body , for a marine it should be no more than 6mm and 12mm for pond and fresh water |

for a pro 3 you need to go for a 15w vectron which needs a flow rate of 1360LH , HTH |

you can pick them up of ebay for around £20 secondhand, and £7 for a new 15w lamp. |

UV's are great, used to get problems with white spot in my tropical tank, got a UV 18 months ago, not had a single outbreak since.
Not had much effect on helping to reduce algea, but sure did the trick on the Ich |

We got a UV a coupla months ago and it worked a treat on the Algae and the water is crystal clear.
Got a 2nd one now for the breeding tank
