any one used SOLL BACTINETTES water conditioner ? , im the other half ( nigel )i took the advice from the lfs on using these little bactirea balls , tipping them into the filter wraped up in filter wool,only to discover that you are not to add the liquid , yes i did'nt read the info, the corals realy dont like it ( all srinking ) i'm doing water changes but at this time of night i'm got to use declorinated tap water, i know thats bad but its got to be beter than doing nothing . so dose anybody know whats in the liquid ?and is there anything else i can do ? just going to add some carbon .thanks for any advice |

oh no nigel im afraid i have no idea. i would suggest pm'ing alan hes pretty clued up and very helpful. is there nothing on the net? |

i do belive that it speeds up the cycle so perhaps it is creating to much too soon for your tank to handle. but as i said i am unsure |

Best bet would be to immediately start filtering over carbon make sure it is marine carbon not all carbon can be used in marine set ups and also filter over a polyfilter and then phone the manufacturer to see what they suggest and in the mean time start getting hold of as much ro water as you can and start changing the tank water fast.
Other than that there is not much I can say as I have no idea what the stuff is you have put in there.
If using tap water when mixing the salt with the tap water I would suggest chucking a polyfilter in the bucket to remove as many impurities as possible if you have a nitragon that will help to. |

hi alan,im useing fluval carbon it's ok in marines done 20gl last night freash and 20gl from our other tank , got new 100gl p er day RO turning up to day, i did'nt want to put corals in other tank as i thought the contamination could spread |

Hi i know nothing of marines but those bactinets live in a solution full of nitrates, ammonia and nitrites to feed the living bacteria.
So as you can see you just chucked all that in your tank.
