hi larrywhat size tank and what are your parimeters.
nitrate
nitrite
amonia
phosphorus
ph/sg
depeneding on your tank size with the amount of live rock you have.the rock itself should cycle your tank as it is enriched with bacteria.I would wait until your levels are zero before adding fish as you can add a wider spectrum of fish with the right quality of water. or you may end up being stuck with the lower quality fish that you used to cycle your tank with. |

i stay away from damsels yes they are cheap and look but they can be aggressive to each and other fish , i would recommend ither common clowns , green chromis (a trio) or cardinals ( a trio to get you going |

i have successfully used sailfin mollies for water maturing. they can live in saline water perfectly well. |

yes but its what do you do with them after yanton??? easier to get a few chromis that can stay in the tank afterwards |

My advice..and it is just that..from experience, go with the chromis, dont push your luck with damsels,i had a mature 6 yr old queen angel, that caused less grief than 2 damsels, and by all accounts the queen was destructive, but made less of an impact on my tank..
Not wanting to give you an advice overload,i will leave it there..

Stay away from humbugs they become beligerent little s o d s.
You want long term pieceful residents I would suggest you go for a pyjama wrasse (providing you don't want to keep any other wrasses) or green chromis these are a close relative of damsels but are more pieceful and far less territorial. Cardinal fish are also good but not as colourful as the green chromis. |
