A UVS and if you don't have one, use esha oodinex, it is invertebrate friendly. |

dont do ro dip on fish like regals that will just stress them out even more, and you will have a death on your hands, how would you like to be put in a air tight room for 5 mins to see if that sorts out your illness , NOT, some corals yes for about 30 seconds as said on other thread if they are feeding well they will over come it by them selfs. |

my regal tang had whitespot she spent 4 days deliberatly swimming through the tenticals of our cleaner shrimp so he would clean her. i got quite worried seeing her flat on her side with him picking at her spots, but she is now clear........ obviously nature finds a way |

Low salinity in a quaranteen tank is always a good way to go. |

All fish come out of the reef for 8 weeks and go into quarantine on a reduced salinity and I use esha whit spot remedy that isn't reef safe on the quarantined fish.
As far as the reef goes leaving it fishless for 8 weeks kills all the parasites as they cannot complete their life cycle.

Also Alan on 28-6-05 you advised some one to use it as it is safe with inverts

You could also try putting in a cleaner wrase, as long as you don't have anything in there that will be able to eat it!

I did and if you look at posts following this you will see a marked change in my view as I had a tank crash caused by whitespot which esha oodinex did not cure. Ultimately I had to resort to quarantinne and running the reef fishless.
Previously I have had some success with oodinex but echinoderms for one can't stand it my sea urchin spat all his spines off and all my starfish tried to climb out of the tank.
Fish keeping is a constant learning curve and whilst people may think that I think I know everything I can assure you I do not and I am always open to alternative methods providing results are proven.
All my advice comes from past experience and at the time of the posts I was happy with oodinex I am no longer happy with it. |
