If you are talking room temperature, then most of the Corydoras (bronze catfish, peppered catfish, albino Corydoras etc) will be OK. I know one that survived fro nearly 10 years with fancy goldfish.
But these would not survive outdoors. |

Bullhead cats, very nasty though, mine attacked a pike i put in. Channels are better and can always be rehomed into a koi pond. |

If its indoors a clarius could be kept in cold water, but if coming from a tropical tank it needs to be acclimatised slowely |

Paleatus corys are pretty much a temperate fish, they will live under thin ice and lay eggs in the low 60s |

There are no catfish available to the trade that can be safely kept with goldfish.
If you buy a channel catfish the shop that sells it would need a special licence to sell them so fortunately they are very difficult to get hold of and with these you can expect them to grow about a foot a year when young.
I bought one when I was a kid it was an inch long within 18 months it was trying to eat koi twice the size of it. Sadly or not depending on how you look at it it didn't survive a harsh winter. They can attain over 1 metre in length.
Wels catfish the owner of the fish requires a licence and they can get massive to the point of being able to take small dogs ducks geese and even swans. |
