can you get the fish out and see if you dislodge them, hold the fish in a damp towel to prevent hurting it, di |

Ive done it, yeaay. I wrapped a cotton ear bud with cling film and gently pushed from back of the mouth to front. It forced the pebbles out and there were 4 . The fish seems a bit shaken and gasping like mad. Is there anything else I should do for him??
God, that scared the living hell out of me! |

Or replace the gravel with sand equally serious. I don't keep any fish on gravel for this reason. |

He is back to normal self today. I turned the light off last night.
Can you use sand fog goldfish?? what if the fish suck sand up and swallow it (always wondered that) |

It is rumoured that certain fish do actually swallow small ammounts of sand to aid thier dijestive system. I think this is mainly done (if at all) by large chilids or fish that sift sand for food stuffs.
I spent years using gravel but now I've been using sand for over two years, theres no looking back.
It does get dirty quicker mainly because the *** doesnt get emedded as it does with gravel and stay on the top, but good tank maintenace ensures this isnt a problem
Change to sand, your fish will love you for it |

So how do you clean the sand?? I mean with gravel I use a gracel and sypon the water out, sucking all the *** out. That wouls just suck the sand out aswell?? |

When syphoning sand keep the pipe end just off the surface of the sand, the *** will be sucked up and most of the sand will stay. For any sand that is sucked out just give it a rinse and put it back
