Do you mean Thalasophene amazonicus (spelling is probably a bit off).

If so ideally needs a species set up with sand deep enough for it to completely bury itself and will also require at least until it can be trained otherwise live fish as they are ambush predators.

There is also a possibility they are venomous and the toxin has never been tested so who knows how bad a sting could be.

Alan, More likley to be Batrachus (halopryne) trispinosus I would have thought - F/W stone fish/lion fish.

Jonie, Take note of Alans comments - but these two species have different water requirements, softer for the monstor fish and harder for the lionfish.

I have not seen any around for a while though.

I believe the lion fish is not a true freshy either it is an estuarine species.
