Hi all, gonna have a 3x15x18 spare some time soon, want to have it as nice display tank, just want a few ideas of what I could have, as I already have a community and 'tankbusters' (tinfoils and silver dollars). Looking towards south american fish of some kind, or amazonian fish, but not to keen on whats small enough (other than neons ) to put in this tank (may consider an upgrade in the future) so any ideas please people. Cheers. |

I agree with telboy i know marines look good but the equipment and fish are soooooo expensive and a tropical tank can look just as good. anyway jessica why not try some sort of cichlids but obviously nothing to big or overly aggressive, so maybe dwarf cichlids like apistogrammas might be a good choice. |

havent got money for marines yet, too much maintainence too. was thinking cichlids, but would prefer something a little larger and something nice nd colourful. not up on the dwarf cichlids, will go look at them now. |

I set the same size tank up as malawi setup, decent hand picked fish and even put a 403 external on it so could pack it out. Looked stunning then had to leave it with house mate the other week as bought myself a house. |

Jake, I was thinking a malawi, though were moving things around our house this year, planning on making space in the kitchen for a nice 6x2x2 or 6x3x2 with some rays and an arrow in, and in the front room were going to try fitting another 6x2x2 (if that doesnt fit then a 5x2x2) community setup, and then in the back room, going to go for a 5x2x2 malawi I think, though I cant seem to even get the basics for malawi atm, so would have to try re search alot more.Sounds like an idea tasha, my lfs had some nice big angels in atm, though theres not much that could go in with them is there |

Pair of convicts are really nice IMO..Houndarian Red Points are also really nice and don't grow to a large size. |

I seriously think dwarfs cichlids are a good choice because there small, colourful, its possible to breed them and they arent really aggressive unless breeding which is the same with alot of cichlids.
This is an apistogramma agassizi.

Def dwarfs, even rams etc. Or malawis. Even geo red heads or another small geo species would be nice. How big is your house then-sounds massive.....? |
